"Kassiane was, as all these saints are, a gorgeous beautiful young single woman who didn't want to get married. She became a nun, joined a convent, and was a musician as well. I was interested in her because she was a musician--itw as the music and text of the hymnography of the Orthodox Church that drew me in."
