Megan Parker (St. Marina)
"Unlike some people, I didn't pick my saint. My dad picked her for me, based on a vibrant Episcopalian community, named St. Margaret's, which holds a place in his heart. Margaret is the Anglicization of Marina--the same saint. One interesting note about Marina/Margaret is that she is often thought of, especially in the west, as a protectress of women in childbirth (even though she was a young virgin) because of one episode in her life where she was swallowed by a dragon. The dragon spit her up when she made the sign of the cross. The analogy is that the woman in childbirth is the dragon!"
