introducing: the ArtBox

If you didn't know, one of the problems an artist can have in their career is having work that sits too long, waiting for the perfect patron.

One of the problems my patrons have is choosing gifts for others. Sometimes a gift can demand a special commission piece, custom-ordered and created just for them. But other times, it's useful to have beautiful things around to share and give.

In comes ArtBox!

Each quarter, I mail out a box to my patron-subscribers. Every box contains an original piece of art, and other surprises (postcards, handmade items, gift prints, and more). With each mailing, I send a custom newsletter with an exclusive video message to my patrons.

I can't tell you how excited I am about this, because it allows me to scratch several itches that I have all at the same time:

  • share the joy of making
Snail mail is a beautiful way to share the physical things I create with others! No reproduction can substitute for the look of the actual chemical print, and I get to share that with my patrons on a regular basis.
  • share the joy of receiving
I love to surprise my patrons and personalize each box with unique items that otherwise dont' get showcased. I value making others feel appreciated and valued as part of the engine that makes my art happen.
  • designing the box
I've always had a soft spot for fun materials and how to make a package exciting to open and engaging to the touch.
  • making room for the new work
When more work can flow from me to other people, it makes room for the new work to show up. When I have a tribe of people to thrill, I look for exciting new things to create for them. It's a win-win.

Think ArtBox is for you? You can subscribe here, or even gift it to a friend! I'd be thrilled for you to join in so I can thrill you right back.
