In this workshop, participants will see examples of what’s possible with the cyanotype process and get an introduction to the chemicals and equipment needed. We will create images on both paper and fabric. By the end, attendees will have at least three pieces to take home, a resource list, and knowledge to make their own cyanotypes.
The morning session (9:30-11:30a) is for children ages 7-12, and adults can register for the afternoon class (1:00-3:00p) at the Asheville Botanical Gardens. Each class is limited to 12 participants. The cost is $20 for non-members, and $15 for members, with a $10 materials fee. Pre-registration & pre-payment is required. It's time to clean house and celebrate World Cyanotype Day 2017!
Drop in to have some refreshments, peruse my home studio, and get a chance to pick up some original prints in need of new homes. Find a special gift, or just come out of curiosity!
Ever wanted to see a cyanotype get made? Well, now's your chance. On Saturday the 30th (World Cyanotype Day!), I'll be doing a collaborative demonstration in my driveway with any and all who are interested to show up and participate.
In case of inclement weather, sale & demonstration will happen indoors. Light refreshments will be served. Come one, come all!
Join me and artist Sarah Dorr at ArtCurious Gallery for the opening of our exhibit, From the Earth. Sarah's beautiful ceramics and my paper cyanotypes will be on display and available for purchase. Not only that, but collaborative cyanotype on ceramic pieces will make their first showing to the world!

A two-hour workshop where students will actively create their own botanical-themed works of art using flower shop remnants and the power of the sun.
In this workshop, we’ll show some examples of what’s possible with the cyanotype process, and an introduction to the chemicals and equipment needed. Students will create images on both paper and fabric, and have at least three pieces to take home, as well as a resource list and knowledge for how to set up for and make their own cyanotypes.
Participation limited to 6 students.
Cost for the workshop is $45, and includes all materials.
